Forward
This six-piece jazz band is
comprised entirely of educators. "Forward" is a talented mix
of musicians who play all forms of jazz from dixieland to
contemporary. Their passion for performing is apparent from
the first note played. A real treat for anyone wanting
something extraordinary.

Anita Singleton-Prather
Anita Singleton-Prather has appeared
in numerous films, television shows
and video productions including Tales From The Land of Gullah,
God’s Gonna Trouble the Waters, Good Morning America, MyMan
Done Me Wrong and Forrest Gump. She’s a native of
the sea islands of Beaufort, South Carolina where she continues to work
as the Curriculum Coordinator for the education of the Gullah Culture
Through the Arts. She’s an educator and historian,
the recipient of the South Carolina Ambassador of Tourism Award, the
Aesop Fable Award and the South Carolina Folk Heritage Advocacy Award
just to name a few.... but, if you ask a child who she is, they will
most likely tell you she is “Aunt
Pearlie-Sue”from www.knowitall.org.
Ms.
Prather has been captivating, motivating and educating children of all
ages about the rich culture of the South Carolina Sea Islands for well
over ten years.

Paulette Wright
Paulette Wright's musical career was
launched at the age of four. The
New Orleans native mesmerizes church audiences with her anoited style.
Paulette has gained a wealth of musical experience, working with
churches, festivals, concerts, revivals, music workshops, weddings, and
theatrical plays nationally.

The Tom Marcellis Band
Born in Memphis and growing up in the
TN valley, Tom Marcellis is a
true son of the south. The area provided an eclectic and rich cultural
atmosphere for the guitarist, singer / songwriter to seamlessly
integrate the fire of traditional blues, jazz and other American music
with global cultural styles producing a dynamic and energetic new form
of improvisational rock and roll.

Diane Cameron
Diane Cameron is a multitalented
performing and recording artist with
increasing recognition in the United States and Africa for creation of
a new art form devoted to Africa’s Diaspora. As a singer,
songwriter, actress, and acting instructor Ms. Cameron has devoted her
career to the Diasjazzpora movement and promotion of African Art forms.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois Diane Cameron entered the
entertainment arena as a jazz dancer and make-up artist for Ebony
Fashion Fair.

The Gullah Kinfolk
The Gullah Kinfolk are the most
exciting
musical sensation ever to come from the South Carolina Sea Islands.
Virtually all related, the closeness of this dynamic group is
apparent from the first song. Audiences nationwide have been mesmerized

of their historical repertoire. Gullah spiritual music transcends time

Edisto Lane is a six piece all girl

from Charleston, South Carolina. They have a huge following and always
draw a large crowd. Their music is a mix of covers and
original
compositions mixing guitars, mandolin, drums & bass.
It’s obvious this highly energetic group of performers love

put on a show. Their enthusiasm is contagious and their fans
